Welcome to Nok On Wood Lifestyle

Nok On Wood is the name of my wooden toy business and Nok On Wood Lifestyle has grown out of this.

Here I have gathered thoughts, ideas and inspiration from my experiences over the years of being a mother, running a wooden toy business and working in a kindergarten – all of which are the hats I currently wear.  Browsing through the posts you will find a lot of bits and pieces that I hope will be interesting.

As we take our wooden toys to Highland Games, fairs and other events in and around the Highlands of Scotland I like to write up about our experiences and share a little about the places we visit.  If you are interested you can read about them in the Nok On Wood On The Road category.   Because some of these events make great family days out I have written about them in more depth in the Family Days Out category where I have also added other interesting places we have visited while we are traveling around Scotland.

Working in a Steiner School kindergarten has given me a lot of opportunity to understand the value of preserving childhood.  The children in my care touch my heart on a daily basis and this has fed into deepening my experience of parenting my own son.  I have shared a lot of my thoughts on this in the Parenting and Education category.

Like many parents I often find children’s birthday parties a challenge.  So when I have a moment of inspiration or come across a good idea to create a fun party theme, I have shared it here.  Hopefully these posts will trigger your own inspiration.  I’d love it if you would share your ideas with me.
